PLOT:
The Man From Mars is the second story in Margaret Atwood's "Dancing Girls and Other Stories." In this adaptation, a plain looking, overweight woman becomes the object of desire of a bespectacled, threadbare student. His dogged pursuit transforms how she is viewed by her acquaintances.

WHO'S IN IT: Sonja Smits returns to the university ten years after The Diviners.

UofM CONNECTION: Exterior shots include Fletcher Argue, the Tier building, and the quad.

Michal Grajewski, a U of M theatre student, plays Austin, and Vic Cowie, long-time member of the department of English, plays Judge Kirkland.

This building is the location of the general offices of the faculty of Arts and the offices of many of the faculty's departments. Inside the octagon structure are two large lecture theatres.
