PLOT:
This film adaptation of one of Margaret Laurence's best-loved works follows Morag Gunn from her tough childhood in Manitoba through to middle-age as she searches for meaning and love. Along the way, we meet various characters from Laurence's Manawaka series and catch a glimpse into the many ways that society creates outcasts.

WHO'S IN IT: Sonja Smits (Traders, Street Legal) and Winnipeg's own Tom Jackson.

UofM CONNECTION: Filmed at Buller and Tache, the cast includes retired English professor Vic Cowie and Robert Enright, the noted arts and culture critic. School of Music graduate Randolph Peters composed the original score. Two U of M grads, Olax Dux and Bernard Narvey, worked respectively as the construction coordinator and the location manager.
