University of Manitoba - Vice-President (Academic) and Provost - Update of University's Strategic Plan
Update of University's Strategic Plan
Five years ago the University of Manitoba launched its Strategic Planning Framework (2009-2014). As we near the end of the five-year timeframe for the framework, it is time to develop an updated plan to take the University through the next five years.

 News and Updates

September 23, 2014 - The Strategic Planning Committee is pleased to provide a draft of Taking our Place: University of Manitoba Strategic Plan 2015-2020.  While there are a couple of sections yet to be completed, the draft document contains the bulk of the proposed content for the University's updated strategic plan. The Committee has worked hard to create a draft that at once addresses the priorities expressed through the consultative process and inspires our staff, faculty, students and wider community as we embark together on this next chapter.

In the same spirit of continued consultation, the Committee invites everyone to provide feedback on this latest draft.  Please take the time to review the draft and submit your comments and suggestions by following the instructions below.

To provide your feedback now, please go directly to the Strategic Plan 2015-2020 Feedback Form or click on the Submit Your Feedback button on the right-hand column of this page.  Feedback is to be provided on-line only and submitted no later than Friday, October 3, 2014.   At the same time input from other committees and bodies will be sought, including the Senate Planning and Priorities Committee, Senate and the Board of Governors.

For more details, please view Dr. Joanne Keselman's communiqué of September 23, 2014.

September 3, 2014 - During an extensive period of consultation between mid-February and early April, members of our university and the broader communities were asked to share their perspectives about the future direction of our university.  More than 50 input sessions were held involving almost 1200 faculty, staff, students and alumni.

This input has and continues to be valuable to the Strategic Planning Committee who are currently finalizing the draft Strategic Planning Framework.  Once finalized, our university and broader communities will have the opportunity to provide input through an online process.  The draft will also be forwarded to Senate and the Board of Governors for discussion and feedback.

The Strategic Planning Committee would like to thank everyone for their input to date and for their anticipated feedback on the draft plan once finalized.  For more details, please view Dr. Joanne Keselman's communiqué of September 3, 2014.

February 28, 2014 - The Strategic Planning Framework 2014 consultation process has begun, with the scheduling of more than 50 input planning sessions for faculty/school councils, administrative groups, special meetings of select Senate Committees as well as forums for students, support staff, alumni and donors. For further information on the process and to view the questions being discussed at input sessions, view Dr. Joanne Keselman's communique to the university community.
